It supports over 319 million jobs and contributes $8.8 trillion to world GDP, equivalent to 10.4% of the global economy.
Air travel provides vital links for the global tourism industry. It is estimated that over half of all international tourists travel by air. There is so much potential for aviation and tourism to strengthen coordination and partnership to generate positive social and economic impacts to communities involved. As such, to build resilience, promote cultural exchange, conserve environment and foster sustainable and inclusive development.
The discussions of this panel will frame around successful case studies on collaboration between airports and non-aviation stakeholders to bring tourists from around the world to their destinations.
